LOCAL ACCOMMODATIONS

In the 1940's Delray Beach was known as an artist's colony: writers, painters, as well as cartoonists, loved the uniqueness and unpretentiousness of Delray. Today, Delray remains a haven for art and artists. Atlantic Avenue is home to dozens of galleries and art related stores. A few blocks away is historic Pineapple Grove, quickly becoming a center of art and culture - home of the Photographic Centre, Old School Square, historic train depot, green market and consignment shops. Located on Florida's Gold Coast, overlooking sandy beaches on Ocean Boulevard, all of the hotels are within walking distance to the famed Atlantic Avenue's shopping boutiques, bistros, outdoor cafes, art galleries, restaurants and nightlife.

Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens

The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens has been a center for Japanese arts and culture in South Florida. The original building, named the Yamato-kan, is modeled to suggest a Japanese villa. The Yamato-kan offers a permanent exhibit chronicling the history of the Yamato colony, a Japanese farming community in South Florida 100 years ago. The Collection houses 5,000 Japanese art objects and artifacts. The 200 acres that surround Morikami’s two museum buildings include expansive Japanese gardens with strolling paths, resting areas, tropical bonsai collection, small lakes teeming with koi and other wildlife, nature trails, pine forests and park and picnic areas.
